Mt. Juliet's city motto is "City Between The Lakes," and it is not just a slogan. Old Hickory Lake sits on the north side of town and Percy Priest Lake sits on the south side. That shapes daily life here more than people expect. On the north end you are close to Cedar Creek, with a marina, a Corps of Engineers swim beach, and the Shutes Branch area with a boat ramp, a fishing pier, and a mountain bike trail. Head south on Mt. Juliet Road and you end up at Long Hunter State Park on Percy Priest, with boat ramps, lake trails, and a paved loop around Couchville Lake. The two lakes work differently, too. Old Hickory allows private docks in some spots with a Corps permit. Percy Priest does not allow private docks at all. So if water is part of why you are looking in Mt. Juliet, which lake you live near really matters. As a realtor in Mt. Juliet, the first thing I ask buyers is how they want to use the water. Boat out back, kayak on the weekend, or just a trail by the lake after work? The answer points us to very different parts of town. Thinking about Mt. Juliet? Give me a call and let's talk it through.
